11 U.S.C. 109(h)
This section provides some exceptions from the credit counseling requirement that also apply to debtor education. The primary exceptions are for incapacity, disability or active military service in a combat zone.

11 U.S.C. 111
This section imposes certain requirements on the U.S. Trustee to oversee approval of debtor education providers.

11 U.S.C. 727
For Chapter 7 debtors, completion of a debtor education course is one of the requirements for discharge. See 11 U.S.C. 727(a)(11).

11 U.S.C. 1328
For Chapter 13 debtors, completion of a debtor education course is one of the requirements for discharge. See 11 U.S.C. 1328(g).
